Caprese Salad Recipe

This recipe is simple, easy, and delicious. It's a perfect addition to any Italian dish. If you're able to score some fresh basil and/or homegrown tomatoes from a garden, this recipe will be even better. To make the recipe a little more sweet, add honey to your balsamic vinegar.


Ingredients:

- 3 whole ripe tomatoes, sliced thick
- 16oz. (or more) sliced mozzarella cheese
- fresh basil
- balsamic vinegar
- extra-virgin olive oil
- kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions:

1. Layer alternating slices of tomatoes and mozzarella, adding a basil leaf between each, on a large, shallow platter. Drizzle the salad with extra-virgin olive oil & balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper.

2. Garnish with more basil.
